Gary Kautzman

Gary Lee Kautzman, 65, Carrington, N.D., died Friday, July 24, 2009, at his home under the care of Presentation Hospice.

Mr. Kautzman was born April 19, 1944, in Carrington, the son of Innocent and Fawn (Page) Kautzman. He grew up in Carrington and graduated from Carrington High School. He married Verna Miller on April 8, 1967, at Carrington. He worked for Gambles Hardware Store, Carrington, for more than 20 years. He then worked various jobs, including one at Dakota Growers Pasta, until his retirement. He enjoyed collecting tools and woodworking. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Brenda Jones, Fargo, N.D.; a son, Patrick (Stephanie), Fargo; his mother, a sister, Gloria Hafner, Sykeston, N.D.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Patrick; and a brother-in-law, Gary Hafner.

Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Carrington, with the Rev. Lawrence Haas officiating.

Prayer service: 7 p.m. Tuesday, Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Visitation: 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial: Carrington Cemetery, Carrington.
