Albert Fandrich, 77, Hillsboro, N.D., died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at Union Hospital, Mayville, N.D.
Mr. Fandrich was born Oct. 28, 1931, near Burnstad, N.D., the son of Gust and Violet (Schauer) Fandrich. They moved to a farm near Blanchard, N.D., in 1938. He attended grade school at Bloomfield No. 3 and graduated from Bohnsack High School. He moved to Fargo, N.D., in 1954 where he worked at a lumberyard. He married May Harris in 1955 in Sisseton, S.D. In 1962 he started doing carpentry work and in 1967 he started farming with his brother. He married Rita Van Dyun on Sept. 2, 1967, at Arthur, N.D.
He is survived by four sons, John, Clovis, N.M., Larry, Colorado, Brian (Amy), Alexandria, Minn., and Mark (Tara), Hillsboro; a daughter, Debra, Pierre, S.D.; a brother, Allen, West Fargo, N.D.; two sisters, Edna, Gary, Minn., and Alice, Jamestown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur; and two sisters, Violet and Shirley.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Blanchard Lutheran Church, Blanchard. Arrangements by Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
Burial: Arnegaard Cemetery, Hillsboro.
