The elderly dog froze to the sidewalk when it was left outside overnight in single-digit temperatures, but the dog, described as “morbidly obese” at more than 120 pounds, survived due to insulation from layers of fat, according to the Humane Society. Shelter manager Carey Payne said the dog weighs three times what it should weigh. The dog’s owner was arrested on suspicion of animal neglect.
