His only sound Friday was loud, uncontrollable sobs as prosecutors charged him with premeditated murder in the shooting death of his model girlfriend. “Take it easy,” Chief Magistrate Desmond Nasir told the Olympic star-turned-murder-defendant as his father, Henke, and his brother, Carl, reached out to touch his shoulder to comfort him.

Harry Harvey Flaig, 80, passed away March 5, 2013 at the Havasu Regional Medical Center, Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born at the family farm, Alfred, N.D. Oct. 15, 1932, to John and Elaine Flaig. He farmed until entering the U.S. Army in 1954 along with his brother, Norman, and cousin, Wesley Dewey, serving 2 years at the Presidio of California.

Stutsman County Wildlife hold youth hunt
The Stutsman County Wildlife Federation, in partnership with the North Dakota Hunter Educators Association, held its annual Youth Pheasant Hunt on Oct. 28. Twenty-two youth ages 17 and under and many parents took part in the hunt. The youth were required to have hunter safety certifications and hunting licenses to participate.
