Truax awarded Beyer Memorial Scholarship
Jessica Truax is the 2012 recipient of the Spc. Paul A. Beyer Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $2,000. She will pursue a degree at Valley City (N.D.) State University in the early childhood education program. Truax is a 2012 graduate of Jamestown High School and the daughter of Glenn and Diana Truax. She has been working at Eventide at Hi-Acres since age 14. Her work ethic and compassion to those around her is very inspiring and part of the reason she was chosen to receive this scholarship, the family of Paul Beyer said.

Marjorie Ann Froehlich, 65, Marion, ND, died Friday, January 11, 2013 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Marjorie Ann Beyer was born October 6, 1947 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Lawrence and Elsie (Brimer) Beyer. She was raised on a farm by Dickey, ND, where she attended Saratoga Country School and then she went to Dickey School. After awhile they moved to a farm by Montpelier, ND, where she graduated from high school in 1965.

Ed Beyer, Darin Erstad and Rick Helling were inducted into the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame Saturday night at the Jamestown Civic Center. A nice crowd was on hand for the event, which featured a silent auction prior to the induction ceremony.
