Cavendish buys Maple Leaf Potatoes
Cavendish Farms announced this week it had concluded an agreement to buy the assets of Maple Leaf Potatoes, the frozen potato business of Maple Leaf Foods Inc., including a 142,000-square foot processing facility in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. The transaction is expected to close by year-end 2012.

On Thursday evening, 24 employers were meeting with potential job seekers at the Reiland Fine Arts Center on the campus of Jamestown College. Employment opportunities ranging from part-time to new careers were available in everything from information technologies to agriculture. National Information Solutions Cooperative, out of Mandan, N.D., was looking for full-time employees with a technology background as more openings keep coming up at NISC.

JHS class of 1952 holds reunion
The Jamestown High School class of 1952 held its 60th class reunion on July 13-14 at the Gladstone Inn & Suites. A social and registration was held July 13 with 28 classmates plus guests. Each class member received a tapestry designed by quilter and seamstress Jill Riffe. The tapestry depicted Jamestown’s noted white buffalo, White Cloud, Dakota Miracle and Dakota Legend.
