When Alexis Grabinger was in the womb, that womb belonged to her aunt. The Jamestown High School senior and daughter of Democratic State Sen. John Grabinger, told the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday morning that she would not be alive if her mother had not been allowed to produce multiple eggs for in vitro fertilization. The other eggs were later destroyed, something that would be considered an abortion under a resolution before the committee.

Sales tax bill would give some funds to counties
A bill to bring more North Dakota sales tax money back to the local counties may be in the works, according to Sen. John Grabinger, D-Jamestown. The bill would require using the funds for infrastructure. Grabinger is working to gain support for a bill to return 1.5 percent of the 5 percent sales tax collected by the state to the county where it was collected.
