The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office is reporting an increase in phone scams over the past two weeks, according to Sheriff Chad Kaiser. Kaiser reported three cases in the past two weeks and all have been generally the same.

Alvina M. Klose, 94, Jamestown, N.D., died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown. Alvina Mary Kaiser was born December 7, 1917, in rural Stutsman County, North Dakota, the daughter of Joseph P. and Sophia (Bautch) Kaiser. She attended school in Ashland Township and then at St. John’s Academy in Jamestown. In the 1980s, she proudly received her GED and was asked to speak at the GED assembly.

Calls for service were up more than 20 percent at the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office in 2012. “It was a busy year. We had a good year,” said Sheriff Chad Kaiser.
