Louis L’Amour and Washington Elementary schools will soon share the time of one principal. The Jamestown Public School Board approved an administrative proposal at its meeting Monday that would require one administrator to serve as principal to both elementary schools.

Eleanor Edwards was born July 28, 1910 to Carl and Rose (Herman) Peterson, in Jud, ND. She attended a country school north of Nortonville, ND and graduated from Nortonville High School. She went to Ellendale Normal and Industrial College and then taught in country schools west of Nortonville.

Jamestown Speech Team places third
The Jamestown Speech Team took third at the Western Dakota Association in Mandan. Emily Lauinger placed in three of her events: sixth in Extemporaneous Programmed Reading, seventh in Dramatic Interp and sixth in Humorous Dramatic Duo with partner Mikayla Patel. Kelsey Becker placed in both of her events, earning an eighth in Extemporaneous Speaking and third with her Speech to Persuade.

The School Board formally extended an offer to Robert Lech to be the next man to run Jamestown Public Schools at its Monday meeting. “The process in my opinion really worked well and I’m happy to report at this time I have had very productive talks with a strong candidate to be the next leader of the Jamestown Public School District,” said Roy Musland, Jamestown School Board president.
