Tim Burchill introduced Sister Suzanne Stahl to speak March 5 to Kiwanis on mission work in Cameroon, Africa. Stahl grew up in Binford, N.D. She is one of the three sisters on the leadership team of Sisters of Mary Presentation. Stahl has a master’s degree in social work.

Teresa Kurtz of Community Options in Jamestown was inducted as a new member of the Jamestown Kiwanis Club at the April 16 meeting. Twenty Kiwanis and two Key Club members were present. Jan Barnes was to introduce Dr. Michael Dean, the new orthopedic surgeon, at Kiwanis. However, when he got to the meeting he was called to assist another doctor in surgery. Barnes said Deans is from Michigan. He has a house near Gackle and has been coming here for 20 years to hunt. He loves the area and calls it the “Duck Hunting Capital” of the United States. Barnes rescheduled him for Nov. 7.
