Comedian Drew Hastings chose the right time for his first appearance in North Dakota. The snow is gone, mostly, and he is wrapping up his “Farmageddon” tour with shows at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday at Shady’s Lounge and Restaurant in the Gladstone Inn & Suites. Tickets are available and may be purchased in advanced by calling 252-1400, at Ingstad Family Media, 2625 Eighth Ave. SW, and at Shady’s. Tickets are $17 in advance, $20 at the door.

Norsk Hostfest founder Chester Reiten dies
Chester Reiten, a North Dakota broadcast pioneer who became a city and state leader and eventually founded a Scandinavian heritage festival that draws people from around the world, has died. He was 89. Reiten, known to most as Chet, died late Tuesday afternoon at a care facility in Minot, his son David Reiten told The Associated Press on Wednesday. Chet Reiten’s wife of 65 years, Joy, was at his side.
