Bentz speaks at Kiwanis meeting
Kent Horton introduced Don Bentz at last week’s Kiwanis meeting to speak on his 33 years of employment with KSJB. Bentz delivered a humorous talk on some of the things that happened to him during these years. He was in sales and did a great deal of traveling. He said rock and roll was harder to sell. When country western music came in, it was easier. When he was working, rates were $7 for a 30-second commercial. A saturation package, which was 100 spots, was $100.

Dalrymple signs tax relief bill at legislative wrap-up session
With the swipe of a pen, Gov. Jack Dalrymple on Tuesday put some of the prosperity of North Dakota back into the pockets of its taxpayers. The governor signed Senate Bill 2156, which grants $250 million in property tax relief to North Dakotans, at a legislative wrap-up event here sponsored by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. Dalrymple applauded the efforts of state legislators, who were in session for 80 days, the most allowed by the state constitution and the longest session in state history.
