Service calls up 21 percent in Stutsman County in 2012
Calls for service were up more than 20 percent at the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office in 2012. “It was a busy year. We had a good year,” said Sheriff Chad Kaiser. Though 2012’s statistics on calls for service for the sheriff’s office can be compared with those from the year before, any earlier numbers aren’t really comparable because the tracking procedure for calls has changed.

Pass the plate for people in the Oil Patch
There is a great deal of concern among my household and that of thousands of households in western North Dakota. I am a lifelong North Dakotan as is my spouse. Both our families have long standing ties to the community that trace back to homesteading days. Our grandparents and great-grandparents came to this state two and three generations ago and by the sweat of their brow and the callousing of their hands carved out a life, a community, a future from the land. Some years were good to them, some not, as is the case when you rely on God’s grace to send rain when needed, to hold storms at bay until harvest in done, to keep the family healthy and safe in between.
