Rhubarb can bring tartness to many items
Rhubarb brings back many early childhood memories. I remember filling a Dixie-cup half way with sugar, running out to cut a fresh stalk, rinsing it under the garden hose (yes, we could do that in those days without getting sick) and dipping the end into the sugar for a sweet and sour treat. Without the sugar it was just too tart to be eaten alone.

Berg remembered at JC’s Medieval Feast
Josh Berg’s chair and plate were left empty Thursday as his classmates memorialized him during their Medieval feast. Black velvet armbands were obvious as Rhys Harries spoke about his classmate’s enthusiasm for life. It was at his and several other Jamestown College seniors’ request that I offered the East-West art history class this semester. I said four years ago, never again, but agreed with their requests, thinking this time, with their help, it would be far simpler.

Utah lawmakers OK bill to take down 'Zion curtain'
Wine spritzers are a summer favorite at Rovali's near Salt Lake City. Behind the bar, in full view of patrons, waiters siphon soda and syrup into glasses of ice — then they duck behind a fake olive tree and a barricade to add the chardonnay.

In a courtroom, not an Olympic stadium, there was no click-click-click of Oscar Pistorius’ prosthetic limbs. His only sound Friday was loud, uncontrollable sobs as prosecutors charged him with premeditated murder in the shooting death of his model girlfriend. “Take it easy,” Chief Magistrate Desmond Nasir told the Olympic star-turned-murder-defendant as his father, Henke, and his brother, Carl, reached out to touch his shoulder to comfort him.
