Backers of a measure to legalize the medical use of marijuana have gone to court to get the proposal on the Nov. 6 ballot after officials rejected petitions they determined were rife with fraudulent signatures. The appeal was filed late Friday afternoon directly with the North Dakota Supreme Court, which has original jurisdiction on the issue because of a looming ballot-printing deadline.

Riders from all over the state gather Saturday afternoon in downtown Jamestown to raise money for Donald Schwind. At noon, event co-organizer Deb Backer said more than 100 bikes traveled a circuit in honor of Schwind.
