William McMillan
William McMillan, 94, Jamestown, ND, formerly of Fordville and Grafton, ND, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. William Wallace McMillan was born March 16, 1919 on the family farm near Fordville, ND. He was the son of Arthur Smith Livingston and Helen (Ratcliffe) McMillan. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Fordville, graduating from Fordville High School in 1937.

Sean Lindberg is the latest Blue Jay to sign on with the Jimmies. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound wide receiver will play football at Jamestown College. Lindberg, who had 12 catches for 400 yards and three touchdowns last season, is the sixth JHS product to stay home.

Matthew Vacek, of Lafayette, Colo., headlined four student-athletes that have signed on to play golf at Jamestown College next season. Vacek is a three-year letterwinner for Fairview High School in Boulder. As a junior, Vacek won the RMJGT Walking Stick Challenge, placed third at the RMJGT Marianna Butte Classic, advanced to the round of 32 at the Colorado Golf Association’s Junior Match Play Championship and earned seven top-five finishes in Colorado Junior Golf Association events.

Kayla Roemmich and Brad Brooks of the Jamestown College track and field team have been named Athletes of the Week by the Jamestown Optimist Club. Roemmich, a senior from Bottineau, tied a career-best in the shot put of 42-feet, 8.75-inches to place second at the Sioux City Relays. She missed qualifying for nationals by one inch.
