It’s that time of the year where people can break out of the winter doldrums and catch a glimpse of what’s new in sports and recreation. The Sport and Recreation Show returns to the Civic Center this weekend with close to 140 vendors displaying everything outdoors.

The night started with backup point guard Maggie Seter singing the national anthem and ended with a 36-point win for the Jimmies. Everything between was pretty good too, as 18th-ranked Jamestown College steamrolled Dakota State 85-49 in its final regular season home game Wednesday night at the Civic Center.

The Bismarck City Commission has commissioned “specification designs” to expand the Exhibit Hall at the Civic Center. The intention will be to pay off bonds that finance the work with existing hospitality taxes. It would not require a city-wide vote. The cost: $25 million.
