Competition and excitement are high, but the weather still isn’t favorable for the Jamestown High School boys golf team. Nonetheless, the Blue Jays will embark on their season opener, when they travel to South Heart for a meet today. Pheasant Country Golf Course is 5 minutes west of Dickinson. The Jays head to the Links of North Dakota — which is between Tioga and Ray — on Saturday.

No buildings were damaged in a grass fire Monday near Millarton, N.D., according to the Jamestown Rural Fire Department The department was dispatched around 3:30 p.m. to 8065 51 1/2 St. SE. JRFD Assistant Chief Brian Paulson said about 6 acres of land were burned and it took about one hour and 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
