Doing good things: JHS girls hockey team continues Relay fundraising
Playing a high-caliber brand of girls hockey over the past four years won’t be the only thing the Blue Jays will be remembered for. The Jays, along with departing coach Brad Schaack, have also had a penchant for philanthropy during that time. Each of the past four springs, the girls — with the support of the Jamestown community — have come together to help raise money for cancer research as a part of the team’s participation in the annual Stutsman County Relay for Life.

Letter to the editor: It’s time to get behind effort to build new library here
The time has come. Over the past 20 years plus, a constant theme in my letters to the editor regarding our libraries has been the importance of providing good library services to all the citizens of our city and county — the importance of a place that says “we believe in learning; that books (and now other media) should be made available to all, no matter the status of one’s life.”
