Luke Bowman became the first student from Jamestown to win the North Dakota Geography Bee Friday in Bismarck. Luke, a home-schooled eighth-grader, will now go on to compete in the National Geographic Bee May 20-22 in Washington, D.C. He is also the first competitor in the North Dakota bee to get into the championship round by winning the challenge round.

One of those memories is when I was in college and getting that March phone call from a friend of mine who was in her late 70s at the time.
