Curtis Slaughter
Curtis Slaughter, 86, Jamestown, ND went peacefully to his heavenly home Thursday April 18, 2013 at the Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND. Curtis Dale Slaughter was born October 10, 1926 near Tappen, ND, the son of Clyde and Ida (Haadem) Slaughter. He grew to manhood in the vicinity. He and Laverne Bauske were married on April 2, 1963 at Steele, ND. They farmed in the Tappen area until moving to Jamestown in 2008. He entered Eventide at Hi-Acres in January of 2012.

VCSU hosting annual Earth Day
Valley City State University will host its second annual Earth Day Festival from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at Medicine Wheel Park in Valley City. The festival will highlight the celebration of Earth Week, with other events planned on the VCSU campus and Valley City through April 25. In the event of inclement weather, the festival on Monday will shift to VCSU’s Osmon Fieldhouse.
