Pace of spring melt may determine benefits
Overland flooding and the ongoing drought might both be impacted by the warming spring weather, according to local and North Dakota officials. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is predicting improving drought conditions for much of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa based at least partially on the amount of moisture in the current snowpack , according to Adnan Akyuz, North Dakota state climatologist.
