Bill to remove NRT member sent
The board created to advise the newly minted Outdoor Heritage Fund for conservation efforts may lose only one of its original board members. After three attempts to remove the three conservation organizations that are specifically listed to be represented on the board — Ducks Unlimited of North Dakota, the North Dakota Natural Resources Trust and the North Dakota chapter of Pheasants Forever — the Natural Resources Trust may be out after asking to be removed, according to Rep. Mike Brandenburg, R-Edgeley.

Travel Alert issued for southeast North Dakota
The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has issued a Travel Alert for southeast North Dakota including the cities of Jamestown, Ellendale, Edgeley, Valley City, Wahpeton, Fargo, Hillsboro and surrounding areas. Conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but should be advised that heavy snow and blowing snow is causing reduced visibility and icy conditions. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.

Dianne Sparks
Dianne Sparks, 70 of Grand Forks, ND passed away Sunday, March 17th, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Dianne Elaine Kalmbach was born on the family farmstead near Jud, North Dakota on December 31st, 1942 to John and Ella (Drenth) Kalmbach. She graduated from Jud High School and obtained her teaching degree from Valley City Teacher’s College. Dianne moved to Wolf Point, Montana and taught on the Indian Reservation there. While living in Wolf Point, she met the love of her life, a southerner, Joe B. Sparks, Jr. who was temporarily working in Montana on a seismology crew.
