Loren W. Lind of Jamestown, ND passed away Saturday March 10, 2012 at the age of 67 surrounded in love by his family, friends and loyal customers. Loren was born July 16, 1944 in Kulm, ND; the son of Walter and Ethel (Johnson) Lind. He was raised and attended school in Kulm, ND. From 1961 to 1965 he served in the National Guard and was employed by Kulm Lumber Yard.

The Napoleon Imperials made a statement with their 78-73 double-overtime victory over Linton-Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock last Saturday in the championship game of the District 6 Boys’ Basketball Tournament in Wishek. First and foremost, it was the team’s first district title in two decades. But it also cemented the Imperials as a bona fide contender for the Region 3 tournament crown, which gets underway today at 3 p.m. inside the Jamestown Civic Center.

Four Winds-Warwick-Minnewaukan held off a late rally by Langdon to win a close one, 52-50 Tuesday night in Class B girls’ basketball action. After a slow start, it picked up late as Langdon scored 25 points in the final frame, but the Indians led 32-25 entering the fourth. The Indians scored 39 of their 52 points in the second half.
