Ag money: LaMoure County ranks 14th in U.S. for highest average income
The boom in the state’s Oil Patch and strong farm prices have given a big boost to personal incomes in North Dakota, putting per capita pay in some places on par with the most famously rich counties in the U.S. Three North Dakota counties — Williams, Billings and LaMoure — posted average personal incomes in 2011 that place them sixth ($81,170), 11th ($76,798), and 14th ($74,875), respectively among the nation’s 3,113 counties, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis.

DUI Task Force increasing enforcement to keep drunk drivers off road
Beginning Nov. 23 through Dec. 2, the Northeast Jamestown Regional DUI Task Force will increase enforcement as part of an effort with the North Dakota Department of Transportation to keep individuals from driving under the influence. Charles Robert Podoll, 83, of LaMoure, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure. Charlie, son of Adolph and Louise (Schober) Podoll was born on January 2, 1929, at Nortonville, North Dakota, where he grew up and attended the first eleven grades of school. His family then moved to Edgeley, North Dakota, where he graduated from Edgeley High School. Charlie was baptized on September 13, 1942, in Jud, ND. He was later confirmed on July 24, 1949, in Edgeley, ND.
