The Jamestown Board of Realtors held its annual Charity Christmas Auction in December with four local charities selected to receive a donation on behalf of local board. The board donated $830 to each. Receiving the funds were the Salvation Army, Safe Shelter, James River Senior Center and Buffalo Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Fighting back tears, Jamestown High School volleyball coach Sara Hegerle spoke fondly of the seniors who helped the Blue Jays tie for the best finish in school history. "I'm gonna miss those seniors," she said. "Most of them didn't play (on varsity) for a number of years. Siri (Jystad) played, but the other ones never stopped fighting for a spot on varsity."

Fifteen-year-old Leah Eisenhardt and her friends weren’t old enough to go, so they went to Dairy Queen instead and headed home for a sleepover.
