Opinion corner: Be patient with QB Ponder
Wake up, Christian Ponder. Or if you’re a glass-is-half-empty Vikings fan, he’s already woken up. The second-year signal caller has been anything but good the last two weeks, completing 27-of-52 passes for 309 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.

Opinion Corner: Sits and starts for week 9
As we head into week 9, the inconsistencies of players continue to boggle the minds of fantasy owners. As difficult as it is to predict this season’s Super Bowl champ, it is just as difficult for some to decide on whom to start on a week-to-week basis.

Opinion Corner: Still hope left for Vikings
As we sit here at the halfway mark of the Vikings’ season, I need everyone to please take a deep breath. Don’t make any rash decisions. Take your Vikings gear out of your incinerator, your garbage can, and/or your pile of clothes to take to Goodwill.

Opinion Corner: Playing for second
There are many reasons the NFL is the most popular pro sport. Reason No. 1 is right in front of our faces — the Vikings are 5-3. No matter how bad a team was the previous year, in the NFL quick turnarounds happen all the time there by giving hope to all 30 fan bases across the country.

Opinion Corner: The NFL is certainly filled with parity.
The Minnesota Vikings’ 21-14 win over Arizona on Sunday didn’t feel like two 4-2 teams. Not often, but occasionally, I think back to the Minnesota Vikings in 1998 and how they would probably roll over this year’s team, though this year’s Vikings do have a better defense.

Vikings have dome-field advantage
Minnesota’s rebuilding project might eventually prove it needs more work. The Vikings, though, have clearly restored a critical piece of their foundation: the dome-field advantage. They’re 4-0 this year under the roof, where their fierce pass rush has been bothering opposing quarterbacks and Adrian Peterson has been powering his way through the other team’s defense.
