Senior center settling in to new digs
The James River Senior and Community Center has moved into its new home in the former Jamestown Hospital, now known as Legacy Living Center. JRSCC Executive Director Laurie McGuire said moving into 10,000 square feet of the iconic building will help draw the public’s attention to the center and the services it offers. Ellen M. Gebhardt, wife of Marvin H. Gebhardt and Jamestown resident, died peacefully at Eventide Hi-Acres Manor on May 6, 2013, from congestive heart disease. Ellen was born in New Rockford, N.D., on 11 January 1923, the middle child of seven. She was married to Marvin H. Gebhardt in Fargo in June 1945, and went with him to Grand Forks in the summer of 1947.
