Hopes high for Jimmies
What’s one of the perks of playing softball in and around the frozen tundra that is North Dakota? Well, if one’s a member of the Jamestown College Jimmies it would have to be packing a few bags and hopping a flight to sun-drenched Arizona for a week in March.

JC men fall to Stritch in opener
The late-season momentum the Jimmie men built up at home could not be sustained in Missouri. No. 2-ranked Cardinal Stritch withstood a first-half flurry from the Jimmies, but took control in the second half and pulled away for a 74-56 win in opening-round play at the NAIA national tournament on Thursday. The Jimmies had played with and beaten highly ranked teams throughout the season, but couldn’t recapture the magic at Keeter Gym in Point Lookout, Mo.

Berg remembered at JC’s Medieval Feast
Josh Berg’s chair and plate were left empty Thursday as his classmates memorialized him during their Medieval feast. Black velvet armbands were obvious as Rhys Harries spoke about his classmate’s enthusiasm for life. It was at his and several other Jamestown College seniors’ request that I offered the East-West art history class this semester. I said four years ago, never again, but agreed with their requests, thinking this time, with their help, it would be far simpler.

Coach Greg Ulland’s team arrived late Monday night. They did a Special Olympics event Tuesday followed by an appearance at US Bank, their primary sponsor.
