This weekend we looked at Saturn from the unique perspective called opposition, when a planet is directly opposite the sun in the sky. Seen from space, Saturn is lined up with Earth on the same side as the sun. Seen from the ground, the planet rises at sunset, remains visible all night and doesn’t set until the sun rises the next morning. Talk about opposites — the two bodies can’t get any farther apart.

John Moore
John Michael Moore, 69, Foxboro, WI, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN surrounded by his family. He was born on January 25, 1944 in Newport, England, the son of William and Eliza May (Marshall) Moore. They lived in England until John was 9 (in 1952) when they moved to Montpelier, ND. John was naturalized as a U.S. citizen on May 6, 1958. John served in the National Guard for six years. He married Kim Wicklund on September 13, 1993 in Ironwood, MI and celebrated nineteen years of marriage.
