A Native American tribe plans to start a new job training program centered on preparing tribal members for oilfield-related careers. The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is starting a rock crusher job training program to give tribal members the skills needed to work in North Dakota’s booming Oil Patch, The Bismarck Tribune reported Monday. The tribe’s headquarters are on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, which straddles the North Dakota-South Dakota border.

The cases of two Bismarck men accused of attempting to solicit teens for sex earlier this year have been moved to federal court. The Bismarck Tribune reports that 28-year-old Aaron Masser and 44-year-old Daniel Lawrence were charged in August in district court with luring minors by computer.

The heat was too much for a snowman in North Dakota. Bismarck Police Sgt. Mark Buschena told The Bismarck Tribune that the snowman was destroyed Wednesday in an explosion. Buschena said the police report does not say whether the snowman was made up of snow or a holiday decoration. There was no damage amount listed for the snowman.
