Minn. wagon trip to raise funds for hospice
Rufus and Rowdy are finally trained and harnessed and a date for takeoff is set. Teamsters Joe Dahlby and Earl Speckman will hitch up those mules to a covered wagon and head for Joice, Iowa — by way of Granada, Minn. Dahlby said he has been planning the trip for several years, spurred by a three-pronged passion. Joice, population 221, is his hometown. His father homesteaded in 1910 near Watford City, N.D., with a team of mules. And, most important, the trek will raise funds for local hospice and palliative care programs.

Man identified from Sunday accident
The North Dakota Highway patrol has identified the 23-year-old man killed early Sunday in a two-vehicle accident in Dunn County. Scott Anthony Wills, Mandan, N.D., died in the crash, which happened at 1:30 a.m. on N.D. Highway 200 near mile marker 103.

Ella Wahl
Ella Wahl, 98, Jamestown, ND died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown. Ella Sayler was born on November 30, 1914 at Venturia, ND, the daughter of Andrew and Christina (Stoebner) Sayler. She was baptized on January 21, 1915. Ella grew up and received her schooling at Venturia. She was employed at Eureka, SD for a number of years and later worked at the Eureka Hospital as a nurses aide. On September 24, 1951 Ella married Fred Wahl at Eureka and they moved to Jamestown. She worked at the White Drug store for several years.
