Letter to the editor: Changes coming to make Jamestown schools safer
A week ago, our safe little world was shook up again as we witnessed another senseless rampage, this time in Connecticut. It seems inconceivable that someone could come up with a plan to murder little kids, still full of the innocence of childhood. Statistics: Our schools are safe
“Our schools are safe.” In the wake of the horrific murders in a Newtown, Conn., elementary school, we’re hearing that assurance over and over again. And while it might not seem so this week, it is true. Statistical evidence is clear. Young students are safer in school than virtually any place else, including their homes. Alleged killer’s bail set at $1.5 million
The Crookston man accused of killing a Thief River Falls woman had his bail set at $1.5 million in his first court appearance Wednesday morning. Jedidiah Dean Troxel faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of Tanya Kazmierczak, who was found dead in rural Pennington County Sunday. Aug. 26. Authorities arrested Troxel Monday Aug. 27 and charged him the following day.
