Dorothy “Dort” Ecklund, 76, Moorhead, MN, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND, with her husband at her side. Dorothy Emeline Niehaus was born May 18, 1936, in New Vienna, Iowa, to Bernard and Martha (Freking) Niehaus. In 1941, the family moved to a farmstead just outside of Sauk Centre, MN, where Dort grew up and graduated from high school in 1953.
