Devils Lake has reached the 1,453.8-foot elevation predicted last month by the National Weather Service. But without a lot more rain, it isn’t likely to get much higher and should not threaten the record elevation of 1,454.3 feet, which was set in 2011, according to officials.

North Dakota University System Chancellor Hamid Shirvani has less than one month left in his position, and he’s not going quietly. Shirvani heaped criticism on three campus presidents in their annual performance evaluations in recent days, calling for full reviews of the presidents at the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University and recommending no raises for the heads of UND and Minot State University.

On June 27, the District 12 Dem-NPL party will be hosting the annual “What’s at Stake?” steak fry at the Zebedee Center in Jamestown. The keynote speaker for the event is Dem-NPL Chairman Bob Valeu. Other speakers include District 12 Sen. John Grabinger and District 12 Rep. Jessica Haak.
