Spring is the best time to divide perennials
Well, it was inevitable. The temperatures have increased and the snow has disappeared. Now the perennials and spring bulbs are trying to make up for lost time and are quickly coming up to make the garden look alive once again. Since we lost the entire month of April to be in the gardens, cleaning out old plant materials, picking up broken branches, and collecting the blown leaves, we will find ourselves extremely busy trying to get everything done in time for planting.

Unlikely scribe handwrites Good Book in 4 years
In the beginning, Phillip Patterson decided to write out every word in the Bible. On empty pages, he wrote of Adam, an ark, locusts, loaves, fishes and the resurrection in his neat, looping cursive. Four years of work begat more than 2,400 pages and left a multitude of pens in its wake. Now, as he copies the last words of the last book, Patterson sees all that he has created.

East-west conflict is set aside

Teen immigrant angst - a factor in bombings?
CHICAGO (AP) — Anna Tabakh didn't know a word of English. At age 5, a stranger in a strange land, she was en route with her parents from the Soviet Union to a new home in Kansas City, Mo.
