Nonetheless, the Blue Jays will embark on their season opener, when they travel to South Heart for a meet today. Pheasant Country Golf Course is 5 minutes west of Dickinson. The Jays head to the Links of North Dakota — which is between Tioga and Ray — on Saturday.

All spring sports are getting the shaft this season due to the extended winter weather. Among the teams hit hardest is the Blue Jay girls tennis squad. Coach Pat Mullowney’s team will play its first match Thursday in Bismarck, which is April 25. The West Region meet will be held May 16-18. That gives the Blue Jays 19 days to play a season.

Lindberg signs with Jimmies
Sean Lindberg is the latest Blue Jay to sign on with the Jimmies. The 5-foot-8, 165-pound wide receiver will play football at Jamestown College. Lindberg, who had 12 catches for 400 yards and three touchdowns last season, is the sixth JHS product to stay home.
