The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has issued a Travel Alert for south central North Dakota including the cities of Jamestown, Valley City, Edgeley, Ellendale and surrounding areas due to blowing snow sticking to the roadways causing areas of scattered slush, compacted snow, and continuous ice.

Roy S. Hoffman, 83, Minot, died Sunday, February 24, 2013, in his home. Roy “Ray” Stanley Hoffman was born December 6, 1929, in Logan County, “Flat” south of Streeter, N.D., the son of John and Katherina (Ketterling) Hoffman. He attended rural school and graduated from Napoleon High School in 1947.

Myra Olson was at a doctor’s appointment on Oct. 24, 2012, when her family’s home near Mandan, N.D., caught fire and burned to the ground. The American Red Cross was there to help meet their most immediate need, shelter. A hotel in Bismarck had a room set aside for the family to use that night through the Rooms for Red Cross program.
