Swept away: Jays take two from Century
Ben Walz provided the kind of timely hitting needed to beat Bismarck Century on Thursday. The offense was mostly stagnant, but it was Walz’ two-run double in the second inning that lifted the Jamestown High School baseball team to a 4-2 victory in West Region action at Jack Brown Stadium. If that wasn’t enough, Walz drilled a two-run single up the middle to lift the Blue Jays 2-1 in the nightcap.

Notre Dame not chicken, just greedy
Brady Hoke was talking the way football coaches do, the way university presidents can’t. Imagine, if you will, the snickering in academia if Michigan president Mary Sue Coleman, a biochemist by trade, accused her counterparts at Notre Dame of chickening out on a science fair. Might as well go all the way and tell them their pocket protectors are two pens shy of a full load.
