Motorcycle clubs celebrate 15th Christmas in July
Christmas came early for the students at the Anne Carlsen Center in Jamestown on Saturday. ACC students were greeted by Santa Claus as part of the Individuals and Ladies Individuals Motorcycle clubs’ 15th annual Christmas in July benefit. It was Individuals member Al Martell this year who donned the red suit and white wig to greet the students.

Zimmerman speaks on ACC
Harvey Huber introduced Donna Zimmerman, interim development director for the Anne Carlsen Center. She shared a 20-minute video on the school’s numerous programs, many of which are being made available in other communities. Fargo, Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Bismarck and Jamestown are the communities using and having the outreach services available to the children. Current enrollment at the center is 54 students; some live in the dorm or the cottages. Currently 1,250 children are being cared for in this endeavor, going beyond the center’s walls.

Volunteers donate at ACC blood drive
A total of 44 people volunteered to donate blood, and 37 were able to give during the Anne Carlsen Center’s recent blood drive. Thirteen people gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine, which collects two units of red blood cells during the donation, so a total of 50 products were collected. Two of the donors gave for their first time.

Jamestown newborn suffers from genetic disorder
It’s literally a 24-hour-per-day task for Jamestown couple Kelly and Tricia Seckerson to care for their sick 4-month-old son. Tricia gave birth to the couple’s third child, Gage, on Feb. 19. He was five weeks premature and was born with suspected Noonan syndrome.

Ardith Lois Peuser, 84, Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully in her home on May 22, 2012. Ardith Johnson was born September 26, 1927 in Ambrose, North Dakota, one of four daughters born to Alfred and Agnes Johnson. Her father sold rural real estate when she was growing up which resulted in the family moving around and living in several towns in NW North Dakota, including Fortuna, Minot, Harvey and Bottineau, before settling in Jamestown.
