West Fargo student ‘still part of the team’
Ian Alves always showed determination as a runner, and he’s done it in his fight against cancer, too. Now his West Fargo High School cross country and track teammates are honoring that determination with a fund-raising run for the junior. They’re holding a Team Ian Run on Nov. 3, with the proceeds going to Alves’ family.

Despite the 20-plus mph wind gusts in and around the area, Jamestown College women’s cross country coach Jim Clark described Friday’s Jimmie Invitational at Jamestown’s Hillcrest golf Course as quite competitive. And, as is usually the norm when healthy, the Jimmies’ Aleona Reyes finished near the top of the leaderboard.
