Submerged vehicle results in one death
A 51-year-old man from Hannah, N.D. has died when his vehicle went into a washed out section of road, according to information released by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The name of the victim has not been released and the accident remains under investigation.

John Moore
John Michael Moore, 69, Foxboro, WI, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN surrounded by his family. He was born on January 25, 1944 in Newport, England, the son of William and Eliza May (Marshall) Moore. They lived in England until John was 9 (in 1952) when they moved to Montpelier, ND. John was naturalized as a U.S. citizen on May 6, 1958. John served in the National Guard for six years. He married Kim Wicklund on September 13, 1993 in Ironwood, MI and celebrated nineteen years of marriage.

There is a great deal of concern among my household and that of thousands of households in western North Dakota. I am a lifelong North Dakotan as is my spouse. Both our families have long standing ties to the community that trace back to homesteading days. Our grandparents and great-grandparents came to this state two and three generations ago and by the sweat of their brow and the callousing of their hands carved out a life, a community, a future from the land. Vehicle strikes Devils Lake bait shop
A bait shop south of Devils Lake suffered damage when it was struck by a vehicle at about 5 p.m. on April, 23, according to information released by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The accident occurred on Highway 20, near mile marker 102 or about 1/2 mile south of Devils Lake.
