Cardinals place three on Class AA all-state team
The Carrington High School football team certainly had its standouts. Seniors Cordell Schroeder, Tysen Rosenau and Casey Murphy made their mark on the Cardinals’ program, helping them to the playoffs the last two years. All three were named to the Class AA all-state team, which was announced Wednesday night and is voted on by coaches.

North Dakota’s housing problems aren’t going away anytime soon. What was already a thin housing inventory has gone into a deficit, a function of intensely expanding oil production. Workers for oil companies have taken any cushion there might have been in available apartments and homes. It’s been cause for worry in coal country, where seasonal maintenance and plant turnarounds periodically bring in waves of skilled workers needing a temporary place to live.

Demons, Deacons remain at top of polls
The Bismarck High and Fargo Shanley football teams continued their reign at the top in the latest Class AAA and AA prep football media polls. Bismarck High received all 11 first-place votes in the Class AAA poll, ahead of Fargo South. Bismarck Century is third and Grand Forks Red River is fourth. Minot, which is fifth, visits Jamestown at 7 p.m.
