The Stutsman County Area Retired Teachers Association met at the James River Senior and Community Center on April 23. President Tom Norman presided over the business meeting. Nominations were held for 2013-14 officers. The office of treasurer was accepted by Lee Ham. The office of secretary was accepted by Kay Glynn and Joyce Naslund. Nominations for president and vice president will be taken at the May meeting.

The internal audit director for the North Dakota University System has resigned, saying he’s fed up with the job and the state’s wintry weather. Bill Eggert submitted his letter of resignation on Friday. His last day is May 31.

Norman Knutson, 72, Jamestown, ND died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown. Norman Knutson was born April 19, 1941 in James-town, the son of Oscar and Elnor (Larson) Knutson. Norman grew up in Pingree, ND and made his home on the family farm one mile south of Pingree.

Another LaMoure Loboe has signed with the Valley City State men’s basketball team. Skylar Shockman, a 2012 graduate at LaMoure, has signed with the Vikings. The 6-foot-7 Shockman currently attends Minnesota State University-Moorhead.
