Steven Geisler paced an Edgeley-Kulm offensive attack that featured three double-digit scorers on Tuesday night in Kulm, as the Rebels rolled to a 59-42 victory over South Border in Class B boys’ basketball action. Napoleon upsets Ellendale
District 6 swept the opening round of the Region 3 tournament on Monday in Wishek. Napoleon and Strasburg-Zeeland won 3-1 and both Linton-HMB and South Border won with sweeps to advance to today’s semifinals. Mariah Jangula had 14 kills for the Imperials as they upset top-seeded Ellendale 25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 25-15.

Eugene ‘Gene’ Donald Burkle
Eugene Donald Burkle, age 75 of Park Rapids, MN passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at his home near Park Rapids, MN. Gene was born on October 4, 1936 to Thomas and Bertha (Bucholz) Burkle in Kulm, North Dakota. He grew up attended the Kulm and Jamestown Schools. In his youth, Gene’s passion was racing motorcycles and cars. On August 1, 1959, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Walker in Minneapolis, MN.
