Dream Team completes dreams

The Ave Maria Dream Team completed two Day Dreams in February. The first dream was a trip out on the town, which included food, friends and fun. Day Dream Team member Rebecca Jensen and her daughter, Savanah Lawson, accompanied Roberta Reimers, Frank Miller and Sylvia Eberle to the Vets Club. They enjoyed a lunch and played 10 games of bingo on the Day Dream Team. The Vets Club treated them all to ice cream for dessert.

Rotary essay winners announced

Rotary has announced the winners of its 4-Way Essay Contest. The first-place essay winner is Nikki Iverson. Second place went to Melanie Etter. The third-place winner is Latasha Klatt. Iverson’s winning essay has been forwarded to the regional contest to compete against other district winners.

Park board discusses TRAC

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Commission came to a consensus Monday in favor of letting YMCA staff manage the Two Rivers Activity Center, should plans for the building become reality. Talks on the proposed TRAC have been in the works for almost two years. Doug Hogan, Parks and Recreation director, and Commissioner Mark Ukestad currently sit on the TRAC board of directors.

Local man’s hobby displayed worldwide

Local man’s hobby displayed worldwide Edward Schlosser farmed the land here for more than 30 years. His woodworking hobby has also lasted more than 30 years with results hanging around the world. Schlosser has created more than 2,000 wooden crosses. The majority about 18 inches high but some are up to 14 feet tall.
