Enrollment steady at public schools 
The enrollment numbers are in for Jamestown Public Schools, and those numbers are stable.
The district total as of this third Friday of the year was 2,148 students, down one student from last year with the biggest area of growth in the elementary schools — more specifically, kindergarten.

Catholic Schools Network’s name to honor John Paul II 
FARGO — What’s long been known as the Fargo Catholic Schools Network is now transitioning to a new name and logo.
Fargo-area schools under the umbrella of the diocese have quietly been Blessed John Paul II Catholic Schools Network since early May, but with the creation of a logo, the change will be fully implemented now, said Tanya Watterud, director of communications for the Diocese of Fargo.

Grant approved for JPS program 
The Jamestown Public School Board learned that a grant for the Gearing Up For Kindergarten program was approved at Monday’s bimonthly meeting.
Gearing Up For Kindergarten is a program offered through the North Dakota State University Extension Service with partial grants appropriated this past legislative session.

Williston schools seek aid for student influx 
BISMARCK — The oil boom has Williston’s schools bursting with students, the district’s superintendent and local lawmakers said Monday as they made a rare plea for state help in building more classroom space.
The North Dakota House Education Committee reviewed legislation that asks for $14 million in state money to help pay for a $70 million construction and renovation project. It does not mention Williston directly, but is worded to apply only to the Williston school district.
