Some of my own art is on display
CSI cable has a collection of four pastel paintings of mine on display in its gallery area. The four are of flowers, which I rarely paint. As a portraitist on canvas and sculptor of the human head and body in clay, stone and bronze, I rarely venture beyond my area of training. These four are an exception.By Sharon Cox , March 04, 2010

Looks like another da Vinci and Warhol surfacing in art
One of the pluses of teaching art courses (aside from getting to work in what you love) is the opportunity to update art history students as new material dealing with fine art and artists surfaces.
Recently, a lovely painting called “Profile of the Bella Principessa” was fingerprinted in order to established the identity of its painter, thought to be Leonardo da Vinci, painter and inventor of the Italian Renaissance.

Geo-Cell inventor designs usable art
Al Arellanes, the San Franciscan whose Rapid Deployment Flood Wall design helped protect valley residents during its 100 day installation this spring and summer, returned in mid-July to be on-hand when it was removed.
While here — in LaMoure, N.D., actually — he decided to design an improved method of removing sand from the flood barrier. In earlier removals, he used a vacuum system that took out the strong, solid fill and deposited it into trucks ready for disposal. He said he didn’t like its inconsistency.
