Off and running The No. 5-ranked Carrington Cardinals and the No. 9-ranked Kidder County Pirates made it through the opening round of the Stutsman County boys’ basketball tournament at the Jamestown Civic Center on Thursday. Devin Barton’s 21 points and Jackson Unruh’s 15 fueled the No. 1-seed Cardinals past Pingree-Buchan-Kensal 86-31, while 20 first-half points by Kidder County’s Wes Nicholson spurred the No. 2-seeded Pirates by Midkota 72-44.
