Vahid Fazel-Rezai, Monica Kim, Nicholas Yogi Liu and Ben Lindsley recently made North Dakota history. The four Grand Forks South Middle School students placed first through fourth among 160 students at the North Dakota MathCounts in Bismarck. It’s the time the top four finishers have come from the same school, although a team from South has earned first place in team competition the four of the past five years.
